Senior Software Engineer · Technical Architect
Designing resilient systems from the wire up to the interface.
I'm Will Redington — a full-stack engineer with nearly a decade of experience turning ambiguous problems into durable systems across healthcare, aerospace, and automotive. I lead teams, architect cloud infrastructure, and write the code that carries it to production.
About
What I do
I've spent the last ten years delivering software across aerospace, military, government, healthcare, and automotive domains — moving from software engineer to technical architect. I lead teams, design systems, and still write the critical code myself. I care about clarity, ownership, and building things that survive contact with production.
- Clean code
- Readable, correct, and boring where it should be. I invest in names, boundaries, and tests so the next engineer moves fast.
- Clear communication
- Translating distributed-systems and infrastructure concepts into language stakeholders can reason about — without flattening the nuance.
- Multi-disciplinary expertise
- Comfortable across application, cloud, DevOps, and data — so design decisions hold up across the whole lifecycle of a system.

Case Studies
Selected work
Three deeper looks at systems I designed and shipped — chosen to represent distributed architecture, cloud infrastructure, and serverless product engineering.
A personalized learning platform that grows a mind map from what you read
An AI content-ingestion pipeline turns ad-hoc web reading into a structured knowledge base and an automatically generated mind map of everything you've learned. — A full-stack AI platform where users capture content through a browser extension, a Step Functions pipeline extracts structured knowledge with LLMs, and every ingestion grows an auto-generated mind map — a living visual graph of topics and relationships that reflects the user's knowledge as it accumulates.
Lifting a DevOps pipeline into a private, VPN-gated AWS footprint
A private EKS cluster, Jenkins pipeline, and VPN-gated access — all defined in code and reproducible from scratch. — Migrated a team's ad-hoc build and deploy infrastructure onto a fully private AWS footprint: a private EKS cluster, Jenkins on EC2, AWS Client VPN for access, hardened networking, and a CDK + CloudFormation + Ansible toolchain that can recreate the whole environment from source.
Moving a telehealth clinic off phone-call prescriptions
Replaced manual phone-in prescriptions with a serverless electronic-prescription system that improved physician throughput by orders of magnitude. — Designed and shipped the serverless backend that moved clinicians from calling pharmacies by hand to issuing electronic prescriptions through a FHIR-based workflow — with idempotency, durable state, and audit guarantees fit for a healthcare platform.
